CRT (monitor) & Television Recycling

The cathode ray tubes (CRTs) in your discarded computer monitors and televisions contain lead, in addition to phosphorous, cadmium, and mercury. These hazardous materials are sealed away to protect users, but they will seep out in a landfill once the CRT is broken -- and eventually find their way into the public water supply.

In addition, when the glass is crushed in a trash-compacting facility, the lead-bearing particles become an airborne hazard. These substances can pose health and environmental risks that can be easily avoided when disposed of properly.

At particular risk are sanitation personnel who handle, truck away, or incinerate these toxic materials.

That's why, beginning in 1992, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) banned the landfill dumping of CRTs. And in 1993, the EPA began targeting companies that dispose large quantities of CRTs through landfills or incineration. In addition, many state and local regulatory agencies are now monitoring the disposal of CRTs and other computer equipment.

The ARI Industries, Inc. Alternative
As a pioneer in the recycling and reclamation of CRTs and electronic equipment, ARI Industries can save you the expense and worry of an EPA "green audit." If you wait for someone to come knocking on your door with a complaint, it may be too late to avoid costly fines and a drastic change in the way you dispose of equipment.

ARI Industries' process of receiving, storing, staging, and transporting of cathode ray tubes for complete recycling is in accordance with applicable Federal and State environmental laws. We have developed a proprietary two-step process that refines the hazardous materials from CRT glass for reuse in other industrial applications.

When it comes to providing CRT recycling services, the experience and reputation of ARI Industries is second to none.
